Ashraful Alam Ahmed

Ashraful Alam Ahmed was born in Holy Family Hosipital Dhaka in 28 June, 1981. Originally from Cox’s Bazar, he was born and brought up in Dhaka. He had a colorful childhood around the streets and alleys of Banani as he was a resident of BWDB Officer’s Quarters, his father being a government service holder of WAPDA. Ashraf’s first school in career was Banani Bidyaniketan where he started his education in 1986. Later on he moved to St. Joseph High School in Mohammadpur in 1989 from where he completed his SSC in 1997. By then he moved to his permanent residence in Uttara from where he completed his HSC from Notre Dame College in 1999. He received his B. Arch. Graduation from BUET (2006) and MBA from IBA, Dhaka University (2011).

As an entrepreneur, he has been in the architectural consultancy industry for the last 13 years. His firm, Ahmed Hossain Architects and Associates is located near his residence in Uttara which has another branch in Chatteshwary Road, Chittagong. Previously he served as Managing Director of Gracias Builder Plus Ltd, a Chittagong based real estate company. Currently he is working as the Principal Architect of his organization. His field of specialization comprises of Building Design Consultancy, Industrial Design and Project Management.

Born to Md. Faridul Alam (Retd. Controller, Finance and Accounts, BWDB) and Sajeda Begum (House Wife), Ashraf is the youngest of 6 siblings. His mother received the “RatnaGarbha” Award back in 2013 for outstanding achievements of her children. He has been married since 2013 to a govt judiciary officer and has one son.

He has been an active member of the following social bodies: BUET Graduates Club Ltd., Club Notredamians Bangladesh Ltd., St. Joseph Old Boys Foundation, IBA Alumni Club and Rotary Club (Uttara Model Town). He has always envisioned and believed in community culture building process which would contribute to the rest of the society for its betterment and prosperity. In addition he has been in professional photography industry for 18 years besides writing, painting and singing as hobby. His photographs and write-ups has been published in different architectural magazines and journals in home and abroad. He participated in 3 combined and 1 solo exhibitions so far. Ashraf is looking forward to establish “SSC 97-HSC 99” Group as the leading batch based entity which will not only strengthen the core values but also become an example for other similar groups.
